As you pass through the wrought iron gates beside the lodge, and sweep down the long drive between the lawns to the house, you could almost be forgiven for momentarily thinking you had somehow been transported to France.

Here in the heart of Cheshire, this magnificent Georgian mansion set in 38 acres of gardens, wooded parkland and meadows bordered by the River Weaver, bears more than a passing resemblance to a French Chateau. But the genuine northern welcome you receive will soon dispel any misconceptions.

You'll be charmed by the enthusiastic hospitality you're offered, which will set the tone for your entire stay and create an atmosphere which will quickly make you feel completely at home.

In fact, with its mellow sandstone walls, polished mahogany panelling, ornamental ceilings, deep-buttoned leather, sumptuous sofas, rich brocades, and stained glass, the very fabric of the building radiates warmth and comfort.
